"At the end of the day, we deserved more".
After the home draw against the still unbeaten 1.FC Nürnberg, the HSV staff and players were statisfied with their performance but still disappointed about the result.
Twice trailing, twice equalising: HSV showed a good performance on Sunday (26 September) in the 2-2 draw against 1. FC Nürnberg and demonstrated strong morale after the setbacks in the first and second halves. Nevertheless, the Red Shorts were not completely satisfied after the match, especially the quick goal conceded after the change of ends was disappointing. Beyond that, however, all the protagonists also highlighted many positive aspects, which are reflected in the basic tenor of the comments on the game.
Robert Glatzel: We came back twice after being behind and showed that we can create many chances - even against a deep opponent. That was good. But to concede a goal right after the restart was extremely bitter. That must not happen to us. Then you start running for 45 minutes, the opponent is deep and it becomes much more difficult. But we threw everything forward and were rewarded.
"The goal we conceded to make it 1:2 was totally unnecessary" Jonas David
David Kinsombi: We were superior in many areas, besieged the Nürnberg penalty area for long stretches and created many chances. Defensively, however, we didn't do everything right, which can also be seen in the two goals we conceded. Especially the 1:2 came at an annoying moment right after the break. Apart from that, it was quite one-sided, so it's hard for me to criticise much. We invested a lot and were creative on the offensive, so we can definitely build on that.
Jonas David: We are a little disappointed because we wanted to win at home. For long stretches we had more control of the game and also the better chances. The goal we conceded to make it 1:2 after half-time should not have happened to us, that was a totally unnecessary goal. If we had been more alert in that scene, there would have been only one winner in the end. All in all, we deserved more today.
"Unfortunately, we didn't reward ourselves even more" Tim Walter
Tim Walter:We didn't get into the game that well, but after falling behind we invested more in the offensive. Unfortunately, we weren't as consistent as in the past two weeks, but we still rewarded ourselves with the 1:1. The 1:2 came out of the blue right after the break, but it shows the team's maturing process, that they continue to hold the reins in their hands, never give up, always keep at it. Unfortunately, we didn't reward ourselves even more, which annoys me a bit, but I'm satisfied with the performance overall - even if we're always completely satisfied with just three points. And sometimes it's out of our own hands - for me, at least, the scene for the 0:1 is not a penalty, but a normal duel in which both players work a bit with their arms. But we accept all that and are happy about the good game of our team, even if we couldn't reward ourselves 100 percent for our great effort..
Robert Klaus: For a long time it looked like we would go home with three points, but in the end we are also happy about this one point. We defended deep today in order to have space in front and to be able to counterattack. That worked quite well overall, even if we didn't create enough relief in our own possession. Defensively, however, we allowed little and in the final minutes we fought passionately against a strong HSV and the stadium and defended the one point. I am very pleased with the way our young team performed here.
