Amaechi joins 1.FC Magdeburg

Xavier Amaechi will leave HSV but remain in the 2. Bundesliga. The 22-year-old Englishman, who joined the Rothosen from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and whose contract expires on 30 June 2023, will join league rivals 1. FC Magdeburg. The club made the announcement today (Tuesday, 6 June). 

Amaechi has only played 13 games (one assist) for the professionals and six games (five goals) for the U21s in the past four years, during which he was also loaned once to Karlsruher SC (January to June 2021) and once to Bolton Wanderers ( July 2021 to June 2022). Now he is seeking his fortune with ex-HSV coach Christian Titz in Magdeburg. HSV wishes him all the best for the future.
