Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit joins HSV
The 18-year-old wide player has signed a long-term contract with the Rothosen following a move from Lilleström SK. Board member Stefan Kuntz: “An exciting talent with much to offer.“
Hamburger SV have made full use of transfer deadline day in acquiring the services of Norwegian attacking talent Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit. The 18-year-old, who can operate on either flank, will join HSV with immediate effect from Norwegian side Lilleström SK, signing a long-term contract with the Hamburg-based club. “In Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit, we have signed an exciting talent with much to offer. He fits in well with our current squad, full of experienced wingers, providing a young and dynamic option. We hope he can continue to develop well here,” said board member for sport Stefan Kuntz regarding the signing of the Norway youth international.
Director of professional football Claus Costa added: “Alexander offers an interesting and well-balanced array of qualities. He is quick and a good dribbler and can play on both wings. He also has a relaxed demeanour which we noticed in our scouting of him. He is always looking to take on a defender. We want to support him as best we can in his development by granting him the time he needs in collaboration with the coaching staff.”
Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit, who only turned 18 on 20th January of this year, grew up in Nittedal, just east of Oslo, and has spent the last two years in the academy of Lilleström SK. In the previous Eliteserien season, which ended at the beginning of December 2024, Rössing-Lelesiit featured 11 times for the senior team, scoring once also providing a further assist. He also netted on his only appearance in the domestic cup and, at that, in the quarter-final against Molde FK. Alongside his first promising forays into professional football, the winger also made his debut for the Norway U17s in September 2024, for whom he bagged a brace shortly afterwards in their friendly meeting with the Denmark U18 side.
“I am really happy to be a part of HSV and want to help this team and this club to win games and earn points in the hope of achieving its major targets,” explained HSV’s new number 38 Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit on joining his first overseas club. On Sunday (2nd February), the 18-year-old visited his new stomping ground as part of his contract signing and attended the home game against Hannover 96 at a sold-out Volksparkstadion. “There was such a cool atmosphere and it was great to see how the players could get the crowd on their feet with a good bit of skill. That got me really excited. I can’t wait to play here myself.”
