0-2 HSV win away in Rostock
HSV picked up the three points against FC Hansa Rostock, winning 0-2. Ludovit Reis and Newcomer Andras Neméth scorer the goals fro the deserved victory!
Hamburger SV won their matchday 19 away match on Sunday (5 February) with 2-0 (1-0) at F.C. Hansa Rostock. In front of 29,000 spectators in the sold-out Ostseestadion, the home side were the better team at the start, but HSV worked their way into the game more and more and took a 1-0 lead through Reis before the half-time break (40th). After the break, the Rothosen missed the early decisive goal before Rostock threw everything forward and HSV scored 2:0 in injury time through newcomer Nemeth to decide the match.
Deserved lead ...
HSV coach Tim Walter fielded the identical team that had impressed offensively last weekend and celebrated a 4-2 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig thanks to a number of goals. And this eleven needed just under a quarter of an hour against the Hansa cog to really get into the game, so that the first approaches to goal came in the 15th and 17th minutes. Dompé and Heyer both narrowly missed the lead, but it was the home side who had it first when Verhoek just missed in the 3rd minute and in Hansa's best phase.
In the opening minutes, the home side had run HSV up high and built up pressure, but as the game progressed, the Rothosen were able to free themselves more and more. In a balanced game without any major offensive highlights, Walter's team developed a slight advantage and put their opponents under more and more pressure with their own pressing. With success! In the 40th minute, midfielder Reis rewarded himself and his team in this way, who had not necessarily played out the 1:0 lead beautifully this time, but had rather worked hard and forced it through unrelenting pressing in the opponent's penalty area. This was the lead they took into half-time.
... and a strong finish
After the break, the Rothosen remained the dominant team and had so much offensive power that the second goal seemed to be only a matter of time. Reis, Jatta and especially Dompé, who hit the crossbar from close range (52nd), had the 2:0 on their feet, but it did not happen. Accordingly, the game remained open and Hansa gave everything to come back. The result was a hard-fought duel with many fights - and some hot scenes. Rostock's goals were twice overturned due to an offside position (68th, 70th), which further heated up the atmosphere in the Ostseestadion. But HSV stood up to it, kept control and stability for the most part and did not let anything happen in the last minutes of the game against only ten Rostock players (yellow card for Roßbach in the 80th minute). On the contrary, top scorer Glatzel had the goal on his lips shortly before the end, but his header from Jatta's cross was just millimetres wide of the goal. But the goal-scorer initiated the decisive counterattack in injury time, which Benes as a passer and the substitute newcomer Nemeth as an executor completed to 2:0 and thus to a deserved away victory.
