Zumberi extends contract and agrees loan move
HSV academy product Valon Zumberi has extended his contract until 2025 and will also move on loan to Swiss second-division side FC Schaffhausen until summer 2024.
Hamburger SV and Valon Zumberi have agreed to extend the centre-back’s contract with the club until 30.06.2025, while simultaneously completing a loan deal for the HSV home-grown talent to join Swiss second-division team FC Schaffhausen until the end of the season. The aim of the move is for Zumberi to gain as much experience as possible at a high level in the Challenge League in order to further his development. The 21-year-old, who arrived at the Rothosen in 2010 and has worked his way through the youth setup, has been in the first-team squad once this season and has featured six times for the U21s in the Regionalliga. Now a new challenge awaits for the Kosovo U21 national team captain, who was born and raised in Hamburg. “We wish Valon all the best for his spell in Switzerland and look forward to continuing our journey together in summer 2024,” said director of professional football Claus Costa.
