“We’re not happy with the result”
The Rothosen and coach Steffen Baumgart were satisfied with large parts of the away game in Fürth, but not with the fact that they missed the chance to go 2-0 up and eventually drew 1-1. Here is the full post-match reaction.
Miro Muheim: We controlled large parts of the game and had enough chances to make it 2-0, so we’re obviously not happy with the draw. We will continue to focus on ourselves and not other teams, that never helps. We will definitely analyse things and look to improve so that we can win more games.
Matheo Raab: We didn’t start well but improved after that. We had by far the better chances and broke the deadlock thanks to Miro’s goal. However, we then failed to make it 2-0 and unfortunately conceded the equaliser via their own stunning goal. Today’s result is a setback for us, regardless of how the other teams around us in the table got on.
"We failed to get a second goal" Steffen Baumgart
Steffen Baumgart: I think today was a game that we could have won thanks to the number of chances we created – and maybe should have won. We overall did a lot of things we wanted to, including creating a lot of chances, but we failed to get a second goal and that kept Fürth in the game. We’re obviously not happy with the result.
Alexander Zorniger: We started well and had two good chances early on, but couldn’t get our reward for a strong beginning. HSV then improved, we came back and defended well at the end. It was an intense game and both coaches and teams can come away happy enough with a point, knowing that each side could have won.
