Reis and Van der Brempt sidelined
Injuries to Reis’ shoulder and Van der Brempt’s thigh suffered in the recent win over Greuther Fürth have been properly diagnosed following extensive examinations at the UKE Athleticum.
There was bad news for two of Hamburger SV’s key players after examinations at the UKE Athleticum on Monday afternoon (23rd October) confirmed the suspected injuries suffered by midfielder Ludovit Reis and right-back Ignace Van der Brempt during the recent home game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
Reis, who landed awkwardly following a challenge, dislocated his left shoulder in a repeat of the injury he suffered in the summer. The 23-year-old Dutchman is now set for a spell on the sidelines, with the possibility of surgery still being discussed.
His Belgian teammate, who signalled that he needed to come off shortly before Reis’ injury, has strained his right hamstring. Head coach Tim Walter will have to do without the 21-year-old defender for the next few weeks.
Hamburger SV wish the duo a speedy and successful recovery. Come back stronger, Ludo & Ini!
