Pherai victorious as international break kicks into gear
Five HSV players have been called up to international duty this week. Immanuel Pherai was the first of the Rothosen to play, with the other four in action on Friday and Saturday.
The international break is slowly getting more interesting from HSV’s point of view. Denis Hadzikadunic (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Emir Sahiti (Kosovo), Immanuel Pherai (Suriname), Adam Karbec (Czechia U21s) and Bilal Yalcinkaya (Germany U19s) have all joined up with their national teams. Pherai kicked off the international break for the Rothosen late on Thursday evening. The midfielder started in Suriname’s CONCACAF Nations League game against Guyana and helped his country win 3-1.
The two new recruits are in action on Friday. Karabec and the Czechia U21s are looking to boost their chances of qualifying for the EUROs against Lithuania, while Sahiti takes on Romania in the UEFA Nations League with the Kosovo national team. Hadzikadunic will also be aiming for a successful start to the Nations League campaign when Bosnia & Herzegovina face off against the Netherlands. Yalcinkaya and the Germany U21s will take on Italy in a friendly. The second half of the international break then kicks off on Tuesday, with all five Rothosen involved before they travel back to Hamburg on Wednesday.
