"It's going to be a tough one"
In the press conference before the home match against Darmstadt 98, head coach Tim Walter talks about the current personnel, the rising form and the strengths of the opponent.
The oppressive heat that is currently prevailing in the Hanseatic city is not bypassing the HSV managers. When Tim Walter took his seat on the podium in the press conference room on Wednesday (17 August), he also expressed his wish for possible cooling: "A fan wouldn't be bad," the coach joked, before referring to a hot duel next Friday (19 August, kick-off: 6.30 p.m.) against Darmstadt 98, currently third in the table with nine points, regardless of the weather. "It never gets easy in the second division. Everyone gives a bit more against us. That will be a tough one," said Walter. It's a matter of re-establishing compactness in one's own game and being handy in all phases.
Tim Walter spoke in detail about ...
... the personnel: "Baka is training again, but we still have to wait for him. It's the first week of training for him. There is no need to interpret whether he is an option. Anssi is also on a good path. But it will take him until the international break before he can really start again, and Xavi Amaechi will also need another week or two.
... the rising form: In the last two games we have already implemented many things very well - but that was also partly the case against Hansa Rostock. But of course we can still improve in many areas. In Bielefeld, we can't get sloppy after half-time, even though we could be leading by more. We can be more consistent, more goal-oriented on the counterattacks and reward ourselves more.
... Opponents Darmstadt 98: The team has largely stayed together. They only lost Luca Pfeiffer. You can see that in the results. They've won all four of their last competitive games. It will be a tough match. But we look forward to every opponent and want to beat them on Friday.
... Omar Megeed: He is a lovely boy who always wants to improve. That's also shown by the fact that he played for the A-youth on Sunday. He wasn't doing so well, but he still wanted to play. That's what makes him stand out. He is still extremely young. He has good prerequisites, but he will also have a lot of playing time in the U19s.
