HSV loan Anssi Suhonen to Jahn Regensburg
The 23-year-old midfielder will spend the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at HSV’s fellow Bundesliga 2 side.
Anssi Suhonen has joined SSV Jahn Regensburg on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season. The Finland international, who arrived at HSV’s academy in summer 2017 and has played 52 games for the first team (2 goals, 5 assists), is now set to play professional football for a different club for the first time. The aim for the 23-year-old, whose only appearance this term came in the 5-0 home win over Fürth last time out, where he recorded an assist, is to get lots of minutes under coach Andreas Patz.
“Anssi has struggled a lot with injuries over the past few years and has therefore only been able to rarely show his potential over a long period of time. He’s always impressively fought back from injury and he’s gained match practice with our U21s,” said Claus Costa, director of professional football at HSV. “We now want him to get as many minutes as he can in the second division. We believe that a loan move to SSV Jahn Regensburg is a great solution for all parties.”
