"Can be satisfied with the performance".
HSV's game at 1. FC Heidenheim ended goalless. Nevertheless, those involved were satisfied with the 90 minutes at the end. The voices on the game, which only lacked that decisive something.
At the end of the game, the HSV professionals thanked the fans who had come along and cheered their team on loudly for 90 minutes. For them alone, the men on the pitch would have liked to score that one decisive goal that would have meant the longed-for three-pointer in this somehow crazy 0:0. But despite many chances on both sides and three efforts off the crossbar, HSV's away game at 1. FC Heidenheim ended goalless on Saturday (28 August) - hard to believe really.
"It could have easily ended 2:2," said Heidenheim's top scorer Tim Kleindienst, who had contributed one of the three crossbar goals, the other two were scored by Moritz Heyer and Florian Pick. In the end, the players and the officials were not happy with the way they had handled their chances, but they were quite satisfied with their performance during the eventful 90 minutes. Quotes from the game.
Sebastian Schonlau: If you look at the game today, with the exception of a few minutes when it was too wild, it was very decent. We can be satisfied with the performance. But we have to keep working on our game. We can and must still improve in all areas, and of course score the goal. We have to stay positive, we have no reason to lower our heads.
"We have to work on scoring points" Sebastian Schonlau
Moritz Heyer: We created a lot of chances, of course we have to score. I also had a very good chance, I had to push the header over the line from close range. That's what was missing in the end. We defended well against the standards and were better than in the last few weeks. In the end, however, we are unfortunately left with only one point. If you don't score a goal, you can't get three points. There was more in every game: Dresden, Darmstadt, today Heidenheim. We have to work on the points in the next few weeks.
Daniel Heuer Fernandes: We're not satisfied with the result, but we did a good job of implementing the plans from the training week - filling the positions better and preventing the counterattacks. We have to accept the fact that we didn't take our chances, as we did last week. We have to work on that and then we will reward ourselves down the stretch.
"We don't reward ourselves enough" Tim Walter
Tim Walter: For us, this game was a step forward overall. We defended very consistently at the back, especially on the many corner kicks that Heidenheim had. I have to give my team a big compliment, they defended everything away. And I also liked a lot of the forward play. We had the necessary composure, were good on the ball and created our chances. But we have to be more consistent and take our chances. We simply don't reward ourselves enough. Nevertheless, I saw a confident performance from my team.
Frank Schmidt: I think the draw is okay. Of course, HSV had more possession, but my team fought back for 90 minutes and did a good job. As far as the big goal chances are concerned, I think the ratio is even. And if no one goes in at the front, then we have to keep a clean sheet at the back. That's what we did today, so we're happy to take this point with us.
