Ewerton ends Hamburg chapter to move to Würzburg
The 31-year-old centre-back leaves Hamburger SV for fellow 2. Liga side Würzburger Kickers.
Ewerton has left Hamburger SV on the final day of the summer transfer window in the direction of Würzburger Kickers. The Brazilian’s contract at HSV initially ran until the 30th June 2021 after moving to Hamburg from 1. FC Nürnberg last summer, only to complete five games for the first team during his time at the Volksparkstadion.
Sporting director Michael Mutzel explained the reasons for the departure: “Due to injuries Ewerton unfortunately couldn’t fulfil his potential at HSV. For that reason, above all we wish that he continues to stay healthy and can spend some time on the pitch. Through his departure our talented defensive players will receive more chances to develop themselves.”
HSV would like to thank Ewerton for his efforts for the club and wish him well for the future.
